GrewPT is a web application for analysing the language and writing of the Pyramid Texts—the collection of spells recorded on the walls of Old Kingdom pyramids. In GrewPT, each sentence of the Pyramid Texts is represented in a morphosyntactic tree diagram according to the Universal Dependencies approach.
This web application is the result of a collaboration between Bruno Guillaume and Roberto Antonio Díaz Hernández during a Short-Term Scientific Mission. Its design and query system are Guillaume’s work carried out in the Sémagramme team at LORIA / Inria Centre at Université de Lorraine. The morphosyntactic tree diagrams are taken from the Egyptian-UJaen treebank developed by Díaz Hernández at the University of Jaén.
The images contaning the hieroglyphic text of the Pyramid Texts are from Sethe’s work (1908-1922), Die altägyptischen Pyramidentexte nach den Papierabdrücken und Photographien des Berliner Museums (4 vols.), Leipzig.
We thank the CA21167 COST Action UniDive for the Short-Term Scientific Mission Grant. It was funded by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology).
